R.I.P. ninja...

we had a little mishap with dylans gerbil. dyl and wren each had a friend over and dylans friend was a little aspbergers. he went crazy with the gerbil and dropped her a few times and was generally really rough with her. latter that night she was super lethargic and my morning she was dead. dylan took it really hard and so we froze her until we could find a place to bury her. dylan asked me not to show any pictures of her grave, he was bawling. but we buried her down by the old mill. wren drew a really touching picture. it was sad, but i think good for the kids to realize how careful you have to be with pets.

lukes passport didnt get to him in time so no canada. sooo... we took him to ithaca. we did an easy hike to the treman park swimming hole.

luda came to visit us for a week. it was great fun having a familiar face around. thanks luke!

fathers day...

punch-n-munch.
the first graders put on a little program just for the dads. cory got to listen to wren sing some songs all about dads and then they had rainbow sherbet and sprite with cookies. he said it was pretty cute.
cory and i compared notes from the mothers day tea and the fathers day punch-n-munch:

mothers day there was so much chit chat that the teachers had to yell more than once for quiet vs the non talking with the fathers!

fathers day was all about the tech... as you can see in the photos... i phones and other geekery galore.

the fathers ate all the snacks while the women just nibbled.
