country parkway bike rodeo....

both the kids participated. dylan wasnt sure at first but eventually he decided he wanted to give it a try. my boy is NOT at all competitive and hates being in the spotlight. wren on the other hand is a wild woman who loves to be the star.

the bike rodeo consisted of 4 tests: figure 8, two parallel lines (wide) that you go as slow as you can without touching the lines, two parallel lines (narrow) where you go wicked fast without touching the lines and lastly the slolam where you are suppose to weave around the cones and take care not to go too fast. wren scared the crap outta the PE teacher by going balls out around the cones and setting the land speed record. she was amazing and even though i yelled for her to slow down... inside i was screaming thats my girl. she was a wild woman on the course and didnt ever go out of bounds or falter. she got the full 100 points and was stoked.
mr dylan got a little crazy on the skinny parallel line and touched it once, so he scored a 99! they were so excited with their ribbons and snacks.

treman state park...

this place was so amazing. from mid june to sept they close up this area and let the water fill in and have a public pool with a diving board and all. we swam and played around in it... but it wasnt at full capacity. you can swim and play right in the waterfall. such a great place!

ithaca falls...

also on the Cornell campus. there was recently a bunch of suicides so they have fenced it all off... but its still extremely beautiful. and like i said... on the campus. how crazy is that?

Taughannock Falls State Park...

this particular fall is taller than niagrara. you can start at the top and work your way down and under or just walk a little ways from the bottom to the falls. you walk along the river as you go and there is some major shale that is quite rYchUs stone skipping material. great fun. the kids were stoked because they saw some tad poles too!
