the results:
nat made a delish pork chop with a pear/cola reduction sauce. she also made a mascarpone potato mash. the potatoes unfortunately were not done.
i made seared pork chops with blackberry, garlic, pear& cola compote. i also made some oven fried and made a spicy mock mayo dipping sauce out of the mascarpone, sirracha, chili powder and lime juice.

chopped...

there is a show on the food network called chopped. we have been playing our own version with some friends. the premise behind it is that you get surprise ingredients that you have to use to make a dish. it is chef to chef combat. there is an appetizer, entre and dessert. so we draw names to see who goes up against whom and then each group chooses the secret ingredients for some other. (entre chooses for dessert, appetizer for entre and dessert for appetizer) here is round two.

the appetizer
andrew vs calvin
secret ingredients: shrimp, graham cracker crumbs, krispy kream donut & limes
the results.... calvin made some very interesting shrimp on top of a donut crostini. he used way to much salt.
andrew made a nice tortilla filled with shrimp, corn and spices. he made a delish sauce.
